No Place Like Home
This piece was created for a show titled 'Farewell Shoes for Mr Bush'
Artists were asked to create work in retrospect to the end of the Bush administration. I chose to take a Wizard of Oz perspective, portraying Obama as the great and powerful Oz, and paid homage to our 43 Pres' TX roots through the use of cowboy boots, which were glitterfied and tucked under the white house. Some think he was a wicked witch. My stance was neutral, and my statement concluded that being President has got to be a tough gig. Regardless of your stance on politics, if you're a US citizen, those ruby slippers rightfully belong to you. Wear them next time you vote. No matter what you think of our government, there truly is no place like this country we call home.
