Sacred/Secular
These 4 paintings were created for a 2024-25 solo exhibition at The Box Gallery in Dallas.
Each painting (20x28" acrylic) was created in reference to a theme that incorporated a sacred scripture next to a secular musical lyrics. Headphones were available for people to listen to the song affiliated with each painting. The thought behind this was that often the sacred and secular are saying similar things, just in different ways. I wanted to see how incorporating the sense of sound and forethought of the scripture might influence how the art was viewed.
